Central FSSAI License

The Central License is required to the businesses which have the annual income over Rs 20 Crores. The businesses such as importers and exporters which do not fall under the above two categories should apply for the Central FSSAI License and if you have your business outlets across the states then you should register for the FSSAI License. The Central Government issues the Central License and the tenure of the License is maximum up to 5 years and a minimum of 1 year.

About the FSSAI Validity and Renewal

The FSSAI License can have validity from 1 year to 5 years. The renewal of the License should be done within 30 days before the expiration of the License. The Central Government charges Rs 100 penalty if the renewal of the FSSAI License is not done before the expiration. It is mandatory for every food business to have FSSAI License to scale their business legally. If the renewal of the FSSAI License is not done before the expiration and any gap occurs in the renewal process then the business operator had to issue a new FSSAI License in order to run his business legally. The FSSAI License will be in power up to 30 days after its expiration.
